OCS announcement of strategic patterns and responses

Summary: In March 2011, Nick Hurd, Minister of Civil Society announced that nice orgnaisations have been selected as Strategic Partners of the Office for Civil Society (OCS)

Nick Hurds stated that ‘[w]e have had to reduce the number of strategic partners, not least to focus resource on front line services. However this is a good mix of partners who will represent the sector well. I look forward to working with them to help the sector manage change and maximise the opportunities that will flow from the Big Society agenda’.

The new Strategic Partners Transition Programme replaces the previous similar initiative which finished at the end of March 2011.

Voice4Change England is campaigning against the lack of BME representation and the decision not to appoint Voice4Change England as a strategic partner.

The National Alliance of Women’s Organisations (NAWO) has written to the Prime Minister and the Minister for Civil Society to express concern that none of the strategic partners has experience of working on gender equality issues.
