Labour's Consultation on women's personal safety and security

Summary: On 25 November 2011, the Labour Party launched a Consultation on Women’s Safety and Security which will take evidence on how the Government’s decisions impact on women’s safety.

The Consultation will be chaired by Vera Baird QC, who will be supported by Kate Green MP (Shadow Minister for Equalities) and Stella Creasy MP (Shadow Home Office Minister) and will report its findings to the Labour Party’s policy making process.

Nationwide evidence gathering sessions will take place between December 2011 and February 2012.

The written consultation period closes on 24 February 2012.

The preliminary report of the consultation will be published on 5 March 2012.
