HomeEquality Act: Positive action in recruitment and promotion
Summary: The Government has confirmed that provisions allowing positive action in recruitment and promotion will be brought into force on 6 April 2011.
The Government Equalities Office has published a quick-start guide giving employers straightforward information about the new positive action provisions and how they work.
The guidance is available at: http://www.equalities.gov.uk/media/press_releases/positive_action_guidance.aspx
A step by step practical guide for employers on using positive action when making appointments will also be available on the GEO website shortly.
