Big society and inequality

Summary: Voice4Change England and the Women’s Resource Centre have been commissioned by the Office for Civil Society to provide advice to Government on: the challenges that inequalities present to the Big Society agenda and how to address them; and the opportunities for tackling inequalities that the Big Society agenda offers.

They are conducting a survey asking voluntary and community organisations focused on equality what the Big Society means for them and their beneficiaries.

The survey asks organisations how Big Society policies and programmes will affect the communities they work with; what the opportunities and challenges are; and what examples of good practice they would like to see more of.

The responses will be used to let Government know about voluntary and community organisations’ experiences of the Big Society and to identify what steps can be taken to take advantage of opportunities, tackle challenges and to make sure that all communities benefit.

The survey should only take around 15 minutes to complete and respondents can answer only the most relevant questions.
