On June 8th 2009 the government announced the UK ratification of the Disability Convention. The Government has been working towards ratification since it signed the Convention in March 2007.
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is a powerful and explicit statement, which aims to enable the 650 million disabled people in the world to access existing human rights.
