18th October 2010
The first East Midlands Poverty Convention is taking place at the historic Southwell Workhouse on October 18th. These are difficult and rapidly changing times and we need to try and ensure that policies, services and resources do not make poor people’s lives poorer.

The Convention will bring together grassroots experience from across the region of the challenges of living on too low an income or with barriers to full participation in society and explore what’s working, what isn’t, and what could be done differently to help people overcome these challenges.

The personal experience, views, and successful community activity of people at grassroots will be central to the discussion amongst delegates from grassroots/community level, professional practitioners, and decision makers.

The All In One project, has created a video ahead of its Poverty Conference, on 18 October in Southwell. Find out more here Video for Poverty Convention

You can get your community and organisation involved in bringing forward the real experience of poverty and social exclusion in the region. Get in touch with the All in One project allinone@cefet.org.uk or contact Clare Caves 0115 911 0455

We can help with local meeting expenses, recording views and experience, taking campaigns to the media, promoting your activity or including your research into local needs and solutions.
