Hate Crime Seminars

Hate Crime Seminars will start at 11am and finish at 12:45pm. There will be refreshments and a networking lunch from 12:45pm – 13:30.

AIM:

To improve understanding within the community and voluntary sector about what Hate Crime is and how to eliminate its presence.

To commit to improving public understanding of Hate Crime and the impact that it has on the community.

OBJECTIVES:

To enable participants to be adequately informed so as to participate meaningfully in the current debates surrounding Hate Crime legislation and how to tackle its existence.

There has been very little public around what Hate Crime consists of. As a result, many myths and misunderstandings have sprung up about Hate Crime – including its effect on religion, belief and national origin rights. Find out about how Hate Crime legislation conflicts with competing personal liberties and how it can be a powerful tool to fight injustice, misunderstanding and discrimination.
